Hybrid work needs a plan, not just a policy
Many teams in Dubai now split their week between home, client sites and a shared workspace. The challenge is rarely the policy itself. It is making sure people have a good place to work on the days they come in, without paying for desks that sit empty the rest of the week. Access plans are designed for exactly this pattern.
How access plans work
An access plan gives each team member entry to a network of coworking centres, with a monthly allowance of desk days and meeting-room credits. On Al Hamriya Business Center, plans are offered in four tiers:
- Basic: a set number of coworking days each month, ideal for people who come in occasionally.
- Business: more days, included meeting-room hours and access to additional centres.
- Premium: unlimited coworking access across the network and a larger meeting-room allowance.
- Enterprise: tailored allowances, central billing and reporting for larger organisations.
Credits and included meeting-room hours reset at the start of each billing month, so it pays to plan usage rather than save it up.
Matching plans to roles
Not everyone on a hybrid team works the same way. A practical approach is to group people by how often they need a desk:
Anchor staff
Team leads, operations and finance colleagues who come in most days. A Premium plan or a small private office usually suits them best.
Regular hybrid staff
People who come in two or three days a week for collaboration. A Business plan typically covers their days plus the occasional team meeting.
Field and remote staff
Sales, account managers and remote specialists who drop in when they are near a centre. A Basic plan keeps them connected at low cost.
Choosing locations that fit the commute
Traffic along Sheikh Zayed Road and between Dubai and Sharjah can turn a short distance into a long drive at peak hours. One advantage of a network plan is that people can work from the centre closest to them, whether that is Business Bay, Dubai Marina, Deira or a centre in Sharjah, and meet in a central location only when the whole team needs to be together.
Setting team anchor days
Hybrid teams that thrive usually agree on one or two anchor days each week when everyone is in the same place. Book a meeting room for the weekly planning session in advance, reserve a cluster of desks, and keep deep-focus work for the other days.
The goal is not to fill desks. It is to make every in-person day worth the journey.
Review usage every quarter
The company dashboard shows how many days and meeting-room hours each person actually uses. Review it every three months. Move people who consistently hit their limit to a higher tier, and step down those who rarely come in. Small adjustments like these keep costs aligned with how the team really works, and make it easy to add a private office later if in-person days increase.
